I am addicted to coffee, love motivational books, am obsessed with learning and am passionate about writing and teaching.
My name is Arwen Taylor. I am a professional writer, thinker, info junkie and entrepreneur. You could say I was born to be a writer. With a mother who writes poetry and a father who writes horror fiction (both, as yet, unpublished) you could say I didn’t have a chance to be anything else. Lucky for me, I love a good story. Books, movies, even music holds a peculiar fascination for me. Even more than that, I love telling a good story.
To me, writing is like sex. You tease the reader with a sensuous introduction that hooks them. Then, with each paragraph, you build their excitement higher and higher until they are begging for the story’s resolution (appropriately named the climax) after which you cuddle with each other in rosy afterglow through the ending. If you do it right, when all is said and done they’ll want you to tell them story after story until you’re both tapped out.
Mmm, good times.
Anyway, though I’ve been writing and studying the craft since grade school, my efforts have mostly been in the arena of fiction writing. However, unless you are J.K. Rowling or Steven King, fiction writing does not pay the bills. Most times you can consider yourself well paid if you get a contributor’s copy of the magazine your story is published in.
Since I love eating and having a roof over my head, I worked “real jobs” for 19 years. But it wasn’t all bad. Several of these jobs allowed me to flex my creative muscles and produce different types of written material such as training manuals, newspaper ads, and sales brochures. After getting a taste of paid writing (sort of), I decided to grab the mouse by the ears and make a daring escape from the rat race by becoming a freelance writer.
In 2007 I began writing part time for private clients and then selling articles at Constant-Content. Eventually, I created my independent publishing company Omnithinker Media and have been exploring different ways of making money online with my writing including niche blogging and affiliate marketing.
Over the past two years I’ve learned a few things about building an internet business. First, never go against a Sicilian when death is on the line. You might end up poisoning yourself. Second, on the internet, content runs the show. Your success on the web is directly proportional to how well you can capture and hold the attention of web surfers. If you don’t provide high quality content that lures buyers to your business, you’ll get trampled by companies that do.
But generating that content is only half of the equation. Getting your message to the masses is the second act of this often comedic play called Internet Marketing. People can’t be attracted to your content if they don’t know about it. To help you out, ‘cause I’m cool like that, I’ve created a few content production and internet marketing packages designed to take the burden of content development and distribution off your shoulders so you can put your attention where it needs to be. Building your business.
I would love to have you as my client. To hire me, simply send me an email. I’m positive you can afford my services but if you want to see for yourself how much it costs to work with me, take a look at my Menu of Services. I do not write “sample” articles but to get a feel for my work, check out my Portfolio.
As an information addict and aspiring polymath, my obsession with learning has motivated me to become well versed in a variety of topics including internet business startup, brand development, web site design, marketing, making money online and social media; all of which I share on the Delish iBusiness Blog. My goal is to help you conquer the internet. Take no prisoners!
Peace and Prosperity
Arwen Taylor
